Sergeant Andy Miller said: ‘Putting the victim at the heart of everything we do remains key for Kent Police in tackling domestic abuse. The new one stop shop in Tunbridge Wells will allow us to work even closer with our partners to help keep victims safe and I would urge anyone who may be affected by domestic abuse to come and speak to us in confidence.
“Kent Police is committed to providing a first class service to victims of domestic abuse and we will use the full remit of our powers to support victims and their families to bring offenders to justice. Nobody should suffer in silence and nobody should stand back and ignore if they know or witness somebody being a victim.’
Sgt Miller is also an ambassador for White Ribbon UK, part of a worldwide movement aimed at preventing men from committing violence against women and girls.
As part of their roles, White Ribbon ambassadors work on a voluntary basis to help educate friends, colleagues, family members and wider communities on domestic abuse issues.
The opening of the new drop-in centre will be in conjunction with White Ribbon day, which is on November 25.
