Ramsgate beach rapist convicted by jury

Oliver Cooper, aged 20. of St Michael’s Avenue, Margate, was convicted following an investigation by detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.  Cooper was found guilty of one count of rape, a trial took place at the Canterbury Crown Court on the 13th of December this year. 

Cooper, has told to have anger management issues . Detectives launched an investigation after he raped her Sunday 7th 2016, at early mornings on the Ramsgate Beach. She has said that she actually agreed to meet him but he then grabbed her, strangled her and then was ignoring her pleas to stop hurting her.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Tania Pickering of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate said:

‘Oliver Cooper is a predatory sex offender who repeatedly denied the allegations made against him.

‘His victim was a vulnerable young woman who endured a harrowing ordeal at his hands. She has shown great courage and bravery to give evidence in court and ensure Cooper will now serve a lengthy prison sentence.’

 

Oliver Cooper, was later found not guilty of three accounts of rape.
