Kent Police are appealing for people who may have witnessed a shop robbery in Chatham on Tuesday evening.
The robbery took place in the BETFRED store on Rainham Road at around 9:30pm where three men are reported to have entered the shop and threatened a member of staff.
One man is alleged to have used a knife to threaten the employee before jumping over the counter and stealing a quantity of cash. The other men then demanded the worker to open the safe where more money was stolen.
The men then left the store and were seen running towards the One Stop inconvenience store and into a car park behind.
They escaped with around £1,000 in cash.
The suspects have been descried as three white men and two were heard to talk with local accents. One man was of a slim build with brown hair and the two other men were both described as around 6ft and of a stocky build.
The manager, a 28-year-old man was not injured during the raid, but the masked-thugs did threaten to stab him if he didn’t hand over the cash.
It is understood the man was threatened with a large kitchen knife.
