Historic castle to show award-winning flower display

One of the UK’s most famous tourist attractions is allowing fans to explore its award-winning gardens online here in Kent.

Hever Castle, most famous for its Tudor links to King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn in the 16th century, is now giving people virtual tours of their garden to enjoy for those in lockdown.

The estate is renowned for its colourful Tulip Festival held each year, and whilst fans will be unable to come face-to-face with the castle’s flowers in 2020, they can get just as close to more than 20,000 of the tulips online.

Other species of flower available to for viewers to see on the castle’s 125-acre site, include daffodils, camellias and bluebells, as well as fruit trees and heavily scented hyacinths.

Those that have already viewed the tour on Hever Castle’s Facebook page have described it as ‘beautiful,’ ‘peaceful’ and ‘inspiring’.

The castle, which has its very own Trevi Fountain equivalent called the Loggia, is also hosting gardening tips and some insight from gardeners into their favourite plants during the tour.
