6 places to visit in Medway

If you ever find yourself in Medway and don’t know where to start or what to do. Here is a list of great things to do in the historic Medway towns…

 1.  Historic Dockyard.

Where scenes of BBC’s Call the Midwife are frequently filmed. Tickets cost as little as £22.00 for an adult and £13.00 for a child if ordered online. You can explore historic warships and submarines. The Dockyard also has activities such as rope making. So take a chance to expand your knowledge of Chatham at the Dockyard.

2.  Rochester Castle.

Step back in time at Rochester castle and walk the castle grounds. The castle has been around for over 900 years. It originally had four square towers however one was destroyed in a siege in 1215. The tower was then rebuilt circular.

3.  Gillingham Ice rink

Visit Kent’s only ice rink – Planet Ice Gillingham. Tickets cost £13.00 including skate hire. The ice rink has evening discos, as well as hockey games, a bar and café. Home to The Invicta Dynamos.


4.  Rochester Cathedral

See the amazing architecture of. Free entry to the public and open daily. In February 2020 the cathedral will hold a giant replica of the moon for three weeks.

5.  Buckmore Park Kart Circuit.

Race around the 1,000 meter circuit and reach speeds of 60mph. the circuit is a great day out for the family. Especially if you are competitive. It became a circuit in the 1960’s and has been growing ever since.

6.  Chatham Ski and Snowboard centre.

Get the chance to Snowboard, Ski and Toboggan even in the summer. Equipment is provided and even if you are not the best it is always a good laugh for all the family.
