Amazon Games MMO ‘New World’ set to launch in May 2020

The creators of the Grand Tour game, Amazon Game Studios, founded over seven years ago is set to launch a fully feature MMO (massively multiplayer online) game named ‘New World’.

The open world, role playing game, developed for exclusively for PC, is being developed by the studio.

Amazon Game Studios have a number of developers from a massively impressive portfolio of games; Destiny, World of Warcraft and Everquest to name a few.

“Our team has been working tirelessly to create a deep, immersive world”

The trailer, released yesterday, showcases the games mystic 17th century setting, called Eternal Isle. Once there, players will explore, find new items and level up their characters.

With a massive array of options for the players, they will have the opportunity to play alone, or with friends. The game will feature player vs enemy combat, as well as player vs player combat. The battlefield can support up to 100 concurrent players at any one time, both AI and online multiplayer.

Amazon Games’ vice president, Christopher Hartmann, said in a press release “Our team has been working tirelessly to create a deep, immersive world that delivers challenges and surprises at every turn, and we’re so excited to reveal a bit more of it today.”

Amazon Games Studio’s previous titles include The Grand Tour game. Released in January of this year, the game did not do very well with critics. New World looks like a promising return for Amazon, and hopefully lessons have been learnt.

Pre orders are now available on Steam. Customers who do pre-order will be able to play a closed beta at a later date.
