Exclusive: Canterbury roads with the most speeding offences
The roads in Canterbury with the highest number of speeding offences have been revealed.
A Freedom of Information request has shown which roads are the most notorious for speeding.
Last year, Rheims Way along the A2050 was the road with the highest number of speeding offences in the city for every month.
Across the year, 1031 offences were recorded.
November saw the highest number of offences, with 173 incidents recorded. This was closely followed by July, with 115 offences recorded.
Data showed the same for 2023 as Rheims Way was the highest for speeding offences each month.
There were 1114 speeding offences recorded on this road across the year.
In 2022, Pin Hill was the highest road for offences in seven months of the year. The road is near to Rheims Way and just off the Wincheap Roundabout.
364 separate speeding offences were flagged in April. The same followed in June, with 355 speeding offences being recorded.
Rheims Way was the location of the most speeding offences in 2021. This road saw the highest number of speeding offences every month.
In January of that year, 116 offences were recorded.
The data from Kent Police includes offences recorded from speeding cameras and officer issued tickets. Last year, shocking speeds were revealed across Canterbury roads.
