Kent County Council elections: Canterbury results as they happen
Voters took to the polls on Thursday in this year’s Kent County Council elections.
Ballot papers are being counted throughout the day, with results coming in throughout the afternoon and evening.
This could be the last ever Kent County Council election as the Government may support the devolution process, which would see a mayor elected.
We will update with the Canterbury district results here as they’re announced.
3:40PM : Whitstable West is now under the Green party after Stuart Heaver received 2097 votes out of a total 6077, beating Reform UK candidate Babychan Thomas by 256 votes.
3:25 PM: Herne Bay East goes to Reform UK. Paul David Chamberlain has been elected with 1935 votes, beating conservative candidate Dan Watkins.
3:15 PM : Whitstable East & Herne Bay West goes to Reform UK with 2062 votes going to Adrian John Kibble out of a total 5441 votes, beating Conservative candidate Neil Stephen Baker by 560 votes.
3:15pm: Herne Village & Sturry goes to Reform UK. Mark Francis Mulvihill has been elected with 42% of the votes going to him in front of the Conservative party’s representative.
2:35PM: Canterbury South goes to the Liberal Democrats. Mike Sole has been elected to represent the area with 3017 votes for him beating out Reform’s Colin Spooner.
2:28PM: Canterbury City South is a Labour hold as Connie Nolan keeps her seat. She was elected by 834 votes against Reform’s Oleg Mishchuk with a total of 1776.
2:23 PM : Canterbury North goes to Liberal Democrats party. Alex James Ricketts has been elected to represent the area beating Reform candidate Dirk Ross by 164 votes with a total of 1630 votes.
2:17 PM : Canterbury City North goes to Labour and the Co-operative party. Alister John Brady has been elected to represent the area beating Reform candidate George Henry Mills Spence by 787 votes with a total of 1727.
