Kent Fire and Rescue respond to Herne Bay flat fire

Kent fire and rescue services were called last night, at about nine o’clock, to a kitchen fire in a flat on Canterbury Road, Herne Bay.

Two fire engines were called to the scene with firefighters in breathing apparatus and used hose jets to control the fire.

No one was reported injured and the cause is believed to be accidental.

This follows a previous fire in Sheerness, at outbuildings in Leysdown-on-sea, which occurred at about quarter past eleven on Thursday 4th May.

There were no casualties and the emergency services have said residents close to the fire can now open their windows again.
