Maid-of-Stone! Maidstone United reach play-off final

Ten- man Maidstone United battled to a 2-1 win at Eastbourne Borough in the National League South play-off semi-final to set up a final against Boreham Wood this Sunday.

After taking the lead early through a scrappy Jacob Berkeley-Agyepong goal, the hosts would later equalise through Alfie Pavey following some poor Maidstone defending.

Maidstone midfielder Charlie Seaman was then sent off for two bookable offences eight minutes from the end, and away fans were fearing the worst.

Maidstone season ticket holder Harry Robinson-Day said his thoughts on the game:

But on the 90th minute, Maidstone’s number nine Aaron Blair latched onto a ball in behind before calmly finishing into the bottom corner.

Maidstone’s trip to Boreham Wood on May 18 (12.30pm kick off) and it’s safe to say the fans are excited at the prospect of returning to the National League.

Maidstone will be confident of the victory as in the team’s last meeting Maidstone thrashed Boreham 4-0 at the Gallagher but Boreham finished higher in the league season.

Maidstone yet again will be gearing up for an away day at Boreham’s Meadow Park
