Medway Pride postponed to 2021
Medway’s first Pride festival has been delayed until 2021 as concerns over coronavirus continue.
As restrictions on social gatherings continue, the event has been pushed back to August next year in keeping with current government guidelines and to protect the health and wellbeing of the attendees.

In an official statement on the Medway Pride website, Hilary Cooke, Medway Pride Community organiser, has said:
” We have had to instigate our contingency plan due to possible COVID-19 restrictions preventing mass gathering at MP2020 event on Saturday 22nd August. The contingency plan includes postponing MP2020 to next year with plans to hold the event Medway Pride 2021 on Saturday 21st August 2021.
“All funding raised so far for MP2020 will be used to deliver MP2021. We are looking forward to delivering a bigger and better MP2021 with your help and support.”
Pride is set to go ahead in 2021 and will take place at the originally planned venue on the Rochester Castle grounds.
