NHS workers queueing for new Ebbsfleet test centre

The new drive-thru test centre in Kent is open, with a high demand being seen at these early stages.

Demand at the new Covid-19 testing centre at Ebbsfleet International station is seen through the long delays on the roads in the area.

Queues were seen heading in the direction of Ebbsfleet International in Gravesend today.

Kent Traffic have advised on their website that people use alternative routes where possible if you are driving past the station as the test centre is up and running.

The test centre is open for NHS workers and their households, ensuring those who test negative can get back to work quickly and not self-isolate unnecessarily.

The centre near Gravesend is one of 48 testing sites that the government aims to establish by the end of this month to see to NHS staff and other key workers during the pandemic.
