Kent’s vaccination programme has now been extended to over 40’s as the next phase to combat infection rates.
Kent and Medway health officials have released new data to show the latest COVID19 vaccination progressions, where new reports have found that over 90% of the top priority groups have now received their first dose of the vaccine.
With the first vaccine rollout being such a success, over 48 million vaccinations have been administered in the UK so far. This has meant that the programme has been extended beyond the initial nine priority groups and is now being offered to the over 40’s, as early as the 30th of April.
Matt Hancock’s said in a statement,“We are on track to offer a jab to all adults by the end of July.”
Kent health officials have released data suggesting that they have begun the next phase of their vaccination programme according to the Kent and Medway NHS. 38% of 45-49 year olds have been vaccinated so far.
With the bank holiday weekend approaching, health officials will be taking full advantage of the three day weekend as they will be running clinics to encourage and increase the number of locals receiving their second dose of the vaccine.
Medway Doctor, Sati Lall, will be one of the Kent doctors offering the vaccination service for patients from 16 general practise surgeries across Rochester, Strood, and Medway.
