See what Kent’s version of ‘The Shard’ would look like

Ashford is set to give London a run for its money if plans for its very own version of ‘The Shard’ in Beaver Road are approved.

This new build is set to replace the current ‘Home plus store’ and will hopefully regenerate the Ashford area, making it more vibrant and welcoming to new visitors.

Some of the main features of the 16 story-building are expected to be a restaurant and bar which will provide fine dining to residents, as well as a hidden car park and much more.

The Shard, which has been London’s tallest building since 2010, was the main inspiration for the Ashford high rise.

The imposing 95 storey building has been very popular since it was built, due to it featuring many elements with the main one being the Shangri la hotel.

People can comment on the plan for Ashford until Thursday, December 12. The scheme can be found by searching for 19/01597/AS reference on the borough council’s website.
