May the Fourth be with you: Star Wars celebrations near you
Kent’s Star Wars fans will come together tomorrow to celebrate Star Wars day, also known as ‘May the Fourth’.
The day is marked across the world as a way to enjoy all things Star Wars
Events up and down the county will be taking place where fans can celebrate with one another.
Here’s our pick of events going on in Kent this May the Fourth.
- Kent and East Sussex Railway dress up
What?: A family dress up day, where parents and kids can dress as their favourite characters and battle against the forces of the dark side. Depending on the weather there will be a lightsaber duelling area for kids whilst adults can enjoy a bottle of Star Wars themed beer.

- Star Wars day flash tattoo sale
What?: A day only event where you can get yourself tattooed at High Society Tattoo studio. You can choose a specialist design unique to you and Star Wars.

When?: May 4th, 11am-5.30pm
- Air soft
What?: Dress up as your favourite characters and re-enact battles through the medium of Air Soft. Players will take part in themed activities and prizes will be awarded for the best dressed.
Where?: 501st Airsoft, Dundale Rd, Kipping’s Cross, Tunbridge Wells, TN3 9AQ.
When?: May 5th, 8.30am to 4.30pm
- Live music
What?: Live music and food inspired by the movies held at the Thomas Beckett in Canterbury. Punters are encouraged to dress up and join the fun at the Star Wars party.

- Film Showing
What?: This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. Cinemas up and down the country are showing a re-release of the movie, including Vue, Curzon and the Gulbenkian theatre as well.
