Enjoy a trip to the zoo – from your living room

Zoos are a place that had to shut all their doors down recently due to the coronavirus pandemic. But across the world they have come together to ensure that you can still have the entertainment of going to the zoo but in the comfort of your own home.

You can watch tigers, foxes, penguins and more as zoos begin to live stream their animals for us all to see. If you’re an animal lover and you’re missing your zoo fix then this will be sure to cheer you up and the family.

Port Lympne is offering you a chance to see their adorable cubs up close and personal on their cub cam with a live-streaming camera to ensure that everyone around the world can delve into the lives of lions.

ZSL London Zoo is bringing the zoo to you!

Using webcams to live stream, animal antics, zookeeper videos and behind-the-scenes updates.

You can easily access these and enjoy them snuggled up on the sofa, it’s regularly updated so that there is always something for you to watch.

Ranging from getting up close to animals, giving you a tour including animal training, fascinating facts and much more.

You can even venture to the other side of the world and see Melbourne Zoo in action, getting a taster of the Australian atmosphere and the incredible sight of the zoo itself. From Keeper Talks, a live stream of special guests and so much more.

Edinburgh Zoo has a variety of webcams that have been set up for all virtual visitors to watch Yang Guang the panda, as well as penguins, tigers and koalas.

Not only are zoos doing live streams often, but some have also put out activities you and the family can do. Ranging from animals, science and conservation. Chester Zoo has more than 50 activities you can access online. 

If you go over to Chester Zoos Facebook or YouTube pages you can watch a whole day of animal antics, packed with facts and it’s the best way to learn from the comfort of your own homes!

These are just a few of the zoos that are taking the time to be able to give you the opportunity to follow them into the enclosures, to feed the animals and be told facts about your favourite animals. Whilst you sit at home and get lost in the world of the zoo, a great way to learn and also have fun whilst doing so.

If you want to see 3D images of animals that are interactive and appear virtually in your living room, you can do this by typing in the name of the animal, not all have a 3D version. Tiger, Horse, Shark, Wolf and Lion work, if you type it in you’ll get the option that says ‘View in 3D’.
