6 West End shows coming to The Marlowe this year

The Marlowe Theater is no stranger to hosting UK tours of some of the best West End shows the UK has seen. This year this no different with plenty of shows to satisfy all audiences.

The Full Monty: 20-25th February

The 1997 film was a smash hit and has become recognised as a cult classic. It has now been turned into a stage production, this one’s perfect for a night out and a giggle.

The story follows six out of work steal workers with nothing to lose for some cash! The show includes hits from Donna Summer and Hot Chocolate.

The likes of Gary Lucy (Eastenders), Anderew Dunn (Dinnerladies), Louis Emerick (Brookside), Anthony Lewis (Emmerdale) and Kia Owen (Torchwood) taking on the lead roles there’s a little something for everyone.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime: 6th-11th March

The story follows 15 year old Christopher and his extraordinary world and his incredible mathematics brain.

Not only visually stunning the show allows viewers to be transported into what it might be like inside the mind of some autistic children. This show is perfect for all audiences, from schools, to families.

The Commitments 20-25th march

Straight off the West End, The Commitments tells the story of Jimmy Rabbitte, a music fan who forms together an unlikely band of amateur musicians, friends and wannabes in a bid to create the best soul band Dublin has ever seen.

Based off the film of the same title, the show adaptation has been a hit, jam-packed with classic songs like Try a Little Tenderness and Mustang Sally, perfect  for a fun night out.

The Addams Family: 23-27th May

They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky, they’re altogether ooky… The Addams Family, and they’re coming to the Marlowe this spring!

Staring the likes of Samantha Womack as Morticia, Carrie – Hope Fletcher as Wednesday and Les Dennis as Uncle Fester, this is one for the whole family to enjoy. The story follows the families kooky antics following an all grown up Wednesdays confession, she’s fallen in love with a boy from a respectable family. The two families meet with hilarious consequences.

Sister Act: 26th June-1st July

Starring Alexandra Burke and directed by Craig Revel Horwood this ones bound to get your attention!

The smash hit musical is based off the classic film following the story of Deloris Van Cartier who whiteness a murder and is placed in protective custody in a convent. This feel good musical is perfect for all audiences.

Mamma Mia!: 11-29th July

Feel good. you’re bound to love this whether you’re 10 or 100! Set on a Greek island, a story of love,friendship and finding yourself. Using the hits of ABBA there is no doubt you’ll be on your feet and singing along.

This long running West End show goes on tour around the UK and stops at the Marlowe this summer. This show has dazzled people across the world, so don’t miss this one!
