Man charged for thefts and attempted thefts from cars in Ebbsfleet

Four charges have been made against a man in Ebbsfleet after he was accused of stealing, or attempting to steal from parked cars.

Between 14 and 26 April, Kent Police were alerted to several reports of a suspicious man trying to enter vehicles in the Castle Hill area.

On one occasion, a pair of sunglasses were stolen from inside a car.

Callum Challis, of Hive Lane in Northfleet, was arrested in connection with the offences on Monday 27 April.

The 23-year-old man has since been charged with one count of theft from inside a motor vehicle and three counts of vehicle interference.

Challis has been bailed to attend Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 2 June.

Police are calling for anybody with further information on vehicle break-ins or suspicious activity in the Castle Hill area to contact Kent Police on 01474 366149 and to quote the incident reference number 46/70593/20.
