Drone used to send drugs to prison

Two people have been charged with using a drone to send drugs and phones into a prison in Kent.

Ingrid Edwards, 25 of Wolfe Crescent tin Charlton has been charged with two counts of brining items into HMP Swaleside in Eastchurch.

Daniel Lee Kelly, 37 of Amblecote Meadows in Grove Park, has been charged with the same offences.

The items are alleged to have been sent into the prison between 16 March and 25 April 2016.

Both appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 26 April. Kelly has been remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday 24 May.

Edwards has been bailed to appear at the court on the same day.
