Road closure causes Stagecoach bus disruption

Canterbury buses going through Canterbury Hill, Tyler Hill have been diverted – only hours after Stagecoach announced no disruptions.

Affected bus services include 5, 914, 915, 916, and 917.

This means that there will be no service between Alcroft Grange and Radfall Corner requiring passengers to find alternative routes if their destination is between these locations.

The Tylers Kiln, Britton Court Farm, Broomfield Gate, Dukeswood and Radfall Ride are all stops that are not being served at this time, so commuters will have to find a different way of getting to these areas.

Only three hours ago stagecoach gave the all-clear that Tyler Hill was open, and all services would operate as usual; however, emergency drainage works quickly changed the outcome.

The works originally began on the 28th of November and have been causing diversions and delays for the bus services since they began.

Despite Stagecoach announcing that the routes were clear earlier this morning, Canterbury Hill was scheduled to be closed for up to seven days.

Kent County Council are assuring people that the closure is ‘necessary to enable urgent drainage repairs’.

Although Kent County Council have expressed their urgency for this closure, passengers have their say on Twitter:

Stagecoach is advising people to follow them on Twitter to keep informed of any further diversions, cancellations, or updates.
