Police were called to Vale Road near the Pantiles, this morning by the ambulance service “following reports of a person found in need of medical attention”.

Officers attended just after 5.15am and a man in his 30s has been pronounced dead.

“The death is being treated as non-suspicious and his next of kin has been informed,” a Kent Police spokesperson said.

“A report will be completed for the coroner.”

Earlier this morning Southeastern railway tweeted that platform one was closed and that people would have to enter and exit from platform two.
