Kent ready to fight back on Day 2 at Spitfire Ground

The 2023 County cricket season continues as Kent meet local rivals Essex at the Spitfire Ground in the latest round of fixtures in the LV = County Championship.

Essex finished the first day the best as they finished the day on 164-1 with the best of the batting coming from Nick Browne who finished the day on 54 not out.

England legend Sir Alistair Cook who is playing his 20th season for Essex was caught out on 39 falling with the score at 43.

Kent on the other hand didn’t have the best of days with Wes Agar taking the only wicket for Kent on Day one before rain took over.

The weather expected is light rain throughout the day with some sunny spells before the start of play.
