FA Cup preview: 4 top games to watch weekend

This weekend is the 3rd round of the FA cup and sees the Premier league teams get their first run out in the competition. Sonny Snelling picks his games of the weekend and gives his predictions.

West Ham Vs Manchester City. Friday 6th January 19:55.LIVE on BBC1

The Hammers will hope to bounce back after playing against City’s rivals United. A controversial 0-2 loss at home. City manager Pep Guardiola will also want more fight from his players after their narrow 2-1 Premier league win against Burnley. I would like to see them play some youngsters as they don’t tend to give them run outs. I can see this being a tight game, but I think the Sky Blues will edge it.

Sonny predicts 1-2 to Manchester City.

Manchester United Vs Reading Saturday 7th January 15:00. LIVE on BT Sport 2

Wayne Rooney is set to start this game. The England captain is still aiming to equal Sir Bobby Charlton’s goal record of 249 goals for United. Reading are in good form and sit 3rd in the Championship. Reading manager and former United player Jaap Stam has turned the club around after a poor last season. Mourinho is now getting the best out of his team after a slow start. One winner for me the current holders.

Sonny predicts 3-1 to Manchester United with Rooney as first goal scorer.

Preston North End Vs Arsenal Saturday 7th January 17:30. LIVE on BT Sport 2

Arsenal have been inconsistent lately. Their last 5 games have resulted 3 wins, 2 losses and a draw. Their last game could have been an embarrassment, but they salvaged a draw in the end. Which was not a get out of jail card for me even though they showed character to come back. Bournemouth let themselves down with bad defending, but deserved to win. Preston have had a mixed season they sit 11th and are 5 points of the play off places. Promotion is probably not on the cards as the teams above them seem superior. Arsenal should win this away game. A win they could do with.

Sonny predicts 0-4 to Arsenal.

Tottenham Vs Aston Villa Sunday 8th January 16:00. LIVE on BBC1

Spurs will be going into this as keen favourites with 5 Premier League wins on the bounce including their impressive 2-0 over leaders Chelsea. I can see manger Mauricio Pochettino resting many of their key players and giving the youngsters a go. As he is known for giving them a chance. Tottenham should be looking at winning a trophy this season. Their last trophy was in 2008. Villa have made improvements under Steve Bruce, but it will be an upset if Spurs lose, especially at home.

Sonny predicts 3-0 to Tottenham.
