Murder investigation launched after woman shot in Dartford

A firearms incident in Dartford is being treated as a murder investigation following the death of a 36 year-old-woman.

Officers and trained police negotiators were called to Priory Road, Dartford on Saturday afternoon following reports of a disturbance and tried to speak with a man inside.

Firearm officers also attended and a woman suffered injuries which are believed to have been caused by a handgun.

The woman was taken to a London hospital but died from her injuries yesterday.

The 29 year-old-man was also taken to hospital with gunshot injuries where he remains in a critical condition.

He is now being treated as the suspect in the murder investigation launched by Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
