Police appeal for witnesses after assault in Gravesend

Police have arrested a fifth person after a serious assault in Gravesend.

Police were called at 4.55pm on Saturday 14 January  to a report that a man sustained a serious leg injury consistent with a stab wound.

Police arrested a 16-year-old boy on Tuesday 17 January on suspicion of assault and burglary in connection with an incident in Christian Fields Avenue.

Officers were joined by the National Police Air Service helicopter which helped to locate four people who were arrested on suspicion of assault and burglary.

A 15 year old boy has been bailed until Thursday 23 February 2017.

Two 16-year-old boys, an 18-year-old man and a 40-year-old man have been bailed until Wednesday 1 March 2017.
