Premier League predictions: Can Spurs finally mount a title charge? 5 biggest games of the weekend

By Sonny Snelling

It’s Week 22 of the Premier league with battles up and down the table. Sonny Snelling gives his opinions on the scores and the teams.

Actual score Sonny’s picks
Spurs Vs West Brom 4-0 2-1
West Ham Vs Palace 3-0 1-1
Leicester Vs Chelsea 0-3 0-3
Everton Vs Man City 1-3 4-0
Man U Vs Liverpool 1-1 2-0

Liverpool VS Swansea City (Saturday 12:30, live on BT Sport)

Liverpool’s fixture list has been quite congested as of late. With that unwanted FA Cup replay against Plymouth midweek. Liverpool made the 239-mile round trip to Devon and were not that convincing. Although they had a weaker team than usual they still fielded Sturridge and Coutinho. They were good in the United game in the league. They had the clearer cut chances than their opponents, but in the last 15 minutes United were bound to score and did through the Swede Zlatan. Swansea were just glad only to concede four against the Gunners last week. Paul Clement has showed some promise. However, Liverpool are my firm favourites.

Sonny predicts 3-0 to Liverpool.

Stoke City VS Manchester United KO 3pm

Stoke beat Sunderland convincingly last week being 3-0 up in 34 minutes. Arnautovic showed the class that he had last season and will be hoping this continues. Stoke have a good record against United at home. The last time they lost at home to them was in 2013. United were awful in the first half against Liverpool. Pogba was too busy worrying about his hair and new hashtag emoji to mark Lovren. Pogba then decided to dab the ball and gave away a penalty. Pogba was looking good, but I think that price tag is weighing heavy on his shoulders. United got better towards the end, but this was too late in the game. Mourinho is now finally implementing his system. I fancy Stoke to get something out of this one.

Sonny predicts 1-1.

Manchester City Vs Tottenham Hotspur (Saturday 17:30, live on BT Sport)

The biggest game of the weekend and it’s make or break for both teams. City are confusing. When they look like getting back in form a result like this appears. 4-0 against Everton I as many didn’t see that coming. This was Peps biggest league defeat of his career. I think the Spaniard is realising the Premier League is different to both the Bundesliga and La Liga. Most said last week City were out of the title race. If they lose this, they may start becoming doubts for top. On Thursday they confirmed the signing of Gabriel Jesus. Will he bring them goals? Tottenham on the other hand are the opposite. They are on a seven game win streak and if they perform as well they did against West Brom and Chelsea I don’t think that City defence can handle it. Harry Kane Vs John Stones will be a key battle. Tottenham’s midfield is better drilled than City’s. You can see the youth in Tottenham’s side as the energy and press is higher. I tight affair, but another Spurs win again

Sonny predicts 1-2 to Spurs.

Will Kane be the hero for Spurs again?

Arsenal Vs Burnley (Sunday 14:15, live on Sky Sports HD)

The Gunners destroyed a woeful Swansea team last week, but that was always likely. The game was overshadowed by the reaction of their top goal scorer Alexi Sanchez after being subbed off. If this was at half time he would have a chase. This I found bizarre. It may be due to stumbling contract talks. In the reverse fixture Burnley deserved a draw. Due to some questionable refereeing meaning Arsenal got a controversial late minute winner. Burnley are great at home, however are a different outfit on the road and hardly score. The Emirates is not going to be easy for the Clarets. Arsenal will win the one, but may be tested at time.

Sonny predicts 2-0 to Arsenal.

Chelsea Vs Hull City (Sunday 16:30, live on Sky Sports HD)

What a weird week for Chelsea. A good win against Leicester was able to put some gloss on things. Although the Diego Costa incident was a huge talking point. Chelsea will want their key man back in the team. Because if he goes the title race will open up even further. Chinese clubs have stopped their interest in him and the ex-Atletico Madrid player is training again. Luckily the Blues had Marcos Alonso to help them with goals recently. Costa is one of the players of the season and selling your striker half way through the season would be bonkers. Something Chelsea will still hope to stop. Many pundits questioned the appointment of Marco Silva. A pretty much unknown coming to this league would cause a lot of doubt. Against Bournemouth Hull look like a different team. A team who could stay up with more results like that. Jake Livermore seems to be edging closer to a move to West Brom which is bad timing. The Home team will want to open up bigger gaps at the top of the table and I see them winning here.

Sonny predicts 3-0 to Chelsea.
