Swale residents to get rebate after council processing error
Swale Borough Council have released a statement following a processing error to do with the Government’s energy rebate.
The government’s rebate was meant to provide £150 to household in the tax bands A-D. However, the error saw money being taken from people’s accounts.

The council apologised in a statement on the council’s website:
“We are deeply sorry that this has happened, and we have been working to rectify the situation and make sure people’s accounts are in a neutral postion.”
The error caused outrage to residents in the Swale district with many taking to twitter to complain to the council about the incident.
how the hell has this been allowed to happen ? if the people in your finance section can’t tell the difference between a debit and a credit it doesn’t augur very well for future transactions !
doesn’t anyone in authority check these transactions before they are completed ?— Keith Drury (@ktwd89) May 4, 2022
