5 Kent summer festivals you will not want to miss
Music events and festivals will be returning to Kent after what feels like a life-time. Ready to get groovy this summer? Here’s a list of Kent festivals/events returning this year:
1. Black Deer Festival
ERIDGE PARK, KENT
Dates: 17th 18th and 19th of JUNE
Want a taste of Americana? Black Deer festival has been a significant Kent event since 2018 and it’s ready to return with a bang.
This festival is all things American; food, drink music and culture. The music line-up is pretty impressive too, with more than 100 acts across seven stages. Headliners include; Van Morrison, Wilco, The Water boys and Jake Bugg.
Black Deer festival also offers a wide rage of activities that are suitable for the whole family. Enjoy some of the country’s top custom motorcycles while breathing in the stunning views of Eridge Park or take a trip to The Jackson Social Members’ Club, an exclusive sanctuary. Dedicated to keeping children entertained Black Deer offers a huge variety of activities for all the younger festival goers, these include; tree climbing and zip wire, printing and customisation of T-shirts, bags or bandanas, music workshops and many more.

2. SANDS Festival
DREAMLAND, MARGATE
Dates: 11th June
This one-day festival is a perfect for music lovers. It will showcase a spectrum of music including; electronica, jazz, soul and techno. Electronic Music producers and DJ duo, BICEP, will be closing this 18+ event, so make sure to bring ID. Two stages will be located within dreamland (indoors) the third stage will be outdoors, so you may have a chance to catch some ravey rays.

3. Pub in the Park
DUNORLAN PARK, TUNBRIDGE WELLS
Dates: July 8 – July 10
Popular two-day festival, Pub in the Park returns this year with an exciting line-up that features Professor Green, The Feeling, Aswad, Supergrass and more. Described as the UK’s biggest celebration of food and music, this festival is ideal for all age groups. It’s also affordable- standard ticket prices for adults start at £43.40 and children under five have free admission. Celebrity chefs will be hosting the festival introducing you to the many pubs and restaurants within the event.

4. Foodies Festival
MOTE PARK, MAIDSTONE
Dates: 24th, 25th and 26th June
Foodies, the touring gourmet food and drink festival, is coming to Maidstone for the first time this summer! Don’t let the name fool you, there’s a lot more to offer than just the tastiest food and drink in the country. The music stage will host indie-pop band Scouting For Girls followed by blue members Lee Ryan & Simon Webbe. To kick off the festivities there will be a ‘Big Party Night’ transporting you to the 90s with some of the biggest music acts of the era, including: Liberty X and 911.
Visitors can enjoy the Chefs’ Theatre, Cake & Bake Theatre, Drinks Theatre, Shopping Village with award winning artisan producers, Street Food Avenue, Feasting Tent, Cook Book Shop, Kids’ Cookery School, fairground, live music stage and family-friendly areas with activities for children. 5. Let’s Rock Kent
MOTE PARK, MAIDSTONE
Dates: 3rd Sept
Let’s Rock Kent is the festival for you if you love all things eighties. Taking place during the first week of September this festival is a great way to wrap-up summer.
Postponed from 2021, the one day retro 80’s festival comes to Maidstone’s Mote Park. Performers include: Wet Wet Wet, Bananarama, ABC, Howard Jones, Go West, Sister Sledge and many many more!
