A2 near Canterbury: leaving queues between Brenley Corner and the Old Dover Road

9.30am:
If you’re traveling between Faversham and Canterbury this morning expect delays.
The A2 has been completely shut both ways one after a crash on the Wincheap roundabout and the other after an 8 vehicle collision on Bridge.
Police and fire services are at the scene clearing debris.
Roads are still at a standstill this morning, there are no current signs of when the road will be clear.
9.40am:
Traffic heavy round wincheap way, due to an earlier accident caused by sheet ice. Roads are still icey so be cautious.
Traffic is slowly moving but expect delays around 20 minutes.
Slow moving traffic in both directions between A28 & A2050 Old Dover Road.
10am:
More police have attended the collision on Bridge. There is still no diversion. With traffic building and not moving delays could be hours.
10:40am:
The traffic is still at a standstill, blocked both ways between Dover and Canterbury and Faversham an Canterbury on the A2050.
11:30am – Update!
Highways England have posted on their website “The event is expected to clear between 13:00 and 13:15 on 27 January 2017”.
