Here’s where you can park for free in Ashford this December
Free parking in most of Ashford Council owned car parks has returned this year in hope to encourage people to do their Christmas shopping locally.
Starting from today (December 3) and running on Friday 10 December – 17 December from 3pm, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 all day.
Councillor Pete Feacey, Portfolio of Community Safety and Wellbeing told Ashford Borough Council : “It has been a tough year for many of our local retailers so I’m pleased that once again we’re able to offer free parking in Ashford and Tenterden on the run up to Christmas.
The festive season is one of the busiest shopping periods of the year, and Ashford and Tenterden have a lot to offer shoppers. We encourage residents to support their home town by doing their Christmas shopping locally and help boost trade for our hardworking, home-grown businesses.”

Under the frequently asked questions section on Ashford Borough Councils website they answer why these carparks are chosen.
It states : “These have been chosen on the basis that they are currently underutilised. Also some migration to the car parks that are free or cheaper will free up space in our most popular car parks making it easier for our customers to find a parking space.”
