Kent firefighters urge people to watch where they park

Kent Fire and Rescue have issued a press statement urging people to be careful not to park too close to fire hydrants which give fire crews urgent access to the water supply.

These hydrants can be found on public roads, pavements, grass verges and are clearly marked with a yellow “H”.

This comes after fire crews have complained that they have not been able to access street hydrants due to cars being parked directly over the hydrant or too close to one.

‘Work with us to make sure firefighters can do their jobs”

Vehicles blocking fire hydrants could be reported as it courses delays in what is usually a extremely urgent time in case of an emergency.
