Twitter remembers Elizabeth Sladen on 10th year death anniversary

Twitter commemorates the anniversary of Elizabeth Sladen’s death ten years ago. Users are sharing their favourite memories of the actress, with the hashtags #DoctorWho and  #OurSarahJane.

Elizabeth was born in Liverpool. She became known for her role as Sarah Jane Smith in the BBC 1 television series Doctor Who, where she became a regular cast member from 1973 to 1976.

In 2005 she made a reappearance on the revival of Doctor Who.

The fans’ reaction led to the creation of her own show, The Sarah Jane Adventures, aired from 2007 to 2011 and produced by BBC Wales for CBBC.

The actress was diagnosed with cancer on February 2011 and died on 19 April 2011.

Her death was reported all over the UK, appearing in the front page of many UK newspapers and in the obituary features of almost all of them.

Today it makes ten years after her death, and fans honour her all over social media.
