Watch Folkestone’s ‘magical’ fireworks display

Watch highlights from Folkestone’s Christmas fireworks display:

Earlier in the week, residents of Folkestone enjoyed its annual Christmas lights switch on. This saw a whole host of festive activities – which culminated in a spectacular firework finale at Folkestone’s Harbour Arm.

Tiegan Case 21, described the spectacle as:

“absolutely magical”

before going on to add;

“the fireworks were just so pretty, it was definitely worth braving the cold for.”

The event itself lasted roughly 10 minutes, with many enjoying the surrounding beaches and watching the sea light up with the reflections from the above display.

Local resident Hallam Johnson, comes every year for the display and had this to say on tonight’s event:

The Fireworks are great and a perfect ending to the towns Christmas lights switch on, they really feel like a community event, which brings everyone together to celebrate a lovely evening.

Luckily for local residents like Hallam, this is only the start of the festivities. With the Harbour arms Christmas markets now officially open, as well as a wide variety of Christmas related activities such as the return of Folkestone’s living advent calendar, coming in December. For now though, the excitement in this small town couldn’t be higher. As Christmas has officially begun.
