5 Christmas markets in Kent to enjoy this festive season

With Christmas shortly approaching this year, the festivities in Kent have returned once again with much to enjoy across the county.

Open throughout the month of December, the markets offer the perfect chance to buy Christmas gifts, festive treats or the chance to simply spend some time enjoying the festivities.

Many towns this year are offering Christmas markets filled with stalls, food, drink and the chance to meet Santa Claus.

Canterbury Christmas Market

Located in Whitefriars Shopping Centre its opening times are as follows:

Monday to Friday open 10am-6pm.

Saturdays 9am-6pm.

Sundays 10am-4pm.

Christmas eve closes at 4pm.

An array of different stalls offering products and gifts to suit all.

Food and drink stalls, live music at the weekend even a chance to visit Santa’s Grotto or Santa Paws which invites all furry friends to visit Father Christmas!

Tenterden Christmas Market

The large Christmas market has been cancelled for 2021 due to Covid. However Tenterden Christmas shopping at the barn is open:

Friday, December 3 12pm-7pm

Saturday, December 4 10am-7pm

Both located at the Woolpack Barn.

It includes craft stalls, a raffle and food stalls.

Tenterden also has the Creative Market , located in Market Square Tenterden.

Taking place on:

Saturday December 4 at 10am-4pm.

Folkestone Harbour Arm Christmas Market

The market will connect with the Goods Yard, which will be the first Christmas Market held at the Harbour Arms with the opening times being every weekend from November 27th.

Saturdays 12pm-8pm.

Sunday 12pm-6pm.

It is also open on December 23 and 24.

Stalls, live music and a 24 feet tall Christmas tree which will be involved in the festivities.

Rochester Christmas Market

The market is located in Rochester Castle Gardens.

It is open from: December 3, 12pm-8pm.

Saturday 4 and Sunday 5, 10am-7pm.

Friday 10, 12pm-8pm.

Saturday 11 and Sunday 12, 10am-7pm.

The market includes festive stalls, mulled wine, Bavarian food village and a fun fair.

Ightam Mote

Open from December 4 until January 3.

The ground floor of the house will be open and in the festive spirit.

In the Great Hall, you will be able to see a Victorian Christmas to get you feeling festive.

Ightam Mote also has a winter wander trail for people to enjoy which is open from December 4.
