Coronavirus cases on the rise in Kent

As England cautiously continues it’s journey out of lockdown, coronavirus infection rates in Kent has continued a very gradual increase.

Despite rises in infection rates, cases remain very low as England’s vaccination programme continues with people in their 40s being offered a vaccine.

The most recent data available shows that 286 new cases were recorded in Kent. This is in an increase from last week, where Kent saw 268 new cases.

Folkestone and Hythe still holds the title of the area with the least infections in Kent. Nationally, it has the sixth lowest rate in England.

However, Gravesham still remains as the county’s coronavirus hotspot, with an infection rate of 28.1 per 100,000 people.
