Drug dealer claimed he sold cocaine to support cannabis addiction

A Hadlow drug dealer has been sentenced to almost three years in prison, after confessing to selling cocaine in a police interview.

Stephen Gould, 24, stored drug supplies under a kitchen sink and within clothing when police entered his home last year.

Officers from the Tonbridge Community Policing Team executed a search warrant at his Mill View address in the early hours of July 18 last year.

Officers also found multiple empty deal bags, 5 burner phones and a set of digital scales.

Herbal cannabis with a street value of around £1,250 was found stashed under a sink and a jacket found in the living room contained a tubful of cocaine, for up to 30 street deals.

A list of customers was located in Gould’s bedroom, as well as cash amounting more than £1,000.

Last month at Maidstone Crown Court, Mr Gould pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months on April 25.

Praise for locals

Leading the investigation was PC James O’Gorman who said he was grateful for the role of the local residents.

He said: “We work relentlessly to tackle both the misuse and supply of drugs, and our officers have extensive knowledge of known users and also the criminals who attempt to operate within our communities and this is really crucial in enabling us to identify and stop people like Gould.

“The support we receive from residents continues to be so important, so please remember to report anything that may seem suspicious.

“Your help and information is invaluable and ensures places like Hadlow remain a safe area to live.”
