Canterbury pub dazzles with Christmas lights switch-on

The display has been hailed as the ‘largest Christmas lights display’ for any pub in Canterbury and the switch on definitely lived up to the hype.

Watch the moment the pub had its Christmas lights turned on.

The Tylers Kiln pub in Canterbury switched on its Christmas lights earlier last week just in time for the festive period.

The event was attended by around 150 locals, including Anna Firth, the conservative candidate for Canterbury.

The pub was decorated inside and out, with an abundance of fairy lights and a real Christmas tree situated just outside the entrance.

Towering tree.
Cosy interior displays.
Fairy lights on the inside.
Fireplace all decorated.

“No matter who your local pub is, make sure you support them!”

Alister Collins, owner of the Tylers Kiln, was thrilled about the event, saying: “We were delighted to be so well supported by the local community with up to 150 people turning up to see our annual Christmas lights switch on. No matter who your local pub is, make sure you support them!”

The lights switch on comes as the city begin their Christmas celebrations, with Christmas markets opening in Canterbury high street and Black Friday well past us.
