It’s Eid 2023-History of Eid

Eid Mubarak

Today is the holy festival of Eid, this is the celebration which marks the ending of the holy month of Ramadan.

The celebration of Eid begins with the sighting of the new crescent moon , the name of the festival  is known as Eid Al Fitr which translated into English is “the breaking of fast” this happens for one to three days  every year.

The festival began when the Prophet Muhammad had moved from Makkah to Madinah, this is according to history

The day of Eid begins with a special prayer, following the prayer the celebrations can begin. During this time people also donate  food and money to charities and food banks

There is another Eid which is about taking the pilgrimage to Hajj which is entitled Eid Al Adha.
