Record-breaking nominations for Marlowe’s ‘Aladdin’ at UK Pantomime Awards

The Marlowe Theatre’s production of “Aladdin” has clinched an unprecedented eight nominations at the UK Pantomime Awards 2024.

This remarkable feat sets a new benchmark in the history of these prestigious awards.

The nominations encompass a wide range of categories including Best Pantomime (Over 900 Seats), with standout performances recognised across the board.

 

Ben Roddy, a stalwart of pantomime at The Marlowe, is nominated for Best Dame for his portrayal of Dame Dolly.

Alistair So as Aladdin is nominated for the Barbara Windsor Award for Best Lead, while Courtney Bowman’s role as The Spirit of the Ring has also earned her a nomination for the Carmen Silvera Award for Best Magical Being.

The script by Paul Hendy and the musical direction by Chris Wong have also been nominated.

These nominations have come two years after The Marlowe won the award for Best Pantomime with “Jack And The Beanstalk”.

 


While enjoying the success of “Aladdin”, The Marlowe is already preparing for its next grand production.

“Shrek The Musical” is currently on show with some raving reviews.
